Sprouts. Love em or Hate em
Just like marmite you either love em or ate them. Of course there is no advertising company behind the humble Brussels Sprouts but this kind of talking point is why sprouts have become a popular talking point at christmas and an important (if unwelcome by many) addition to the christmas dinner plate.
I personally think its all down to the way you cook em’. A plate of overcooked soggy sprouts is an unwelcome sight to the eyes, nose and stomach and any recurrence in adulthood is enough to recall the nightmares one had has a child of this demonic vegetable. Fortunately we have learned out to lightly steam our vegetables for a better taste and a fresh crop of lightly steamed sprouts can be as tender as a stem of broccoli for which is shares the same family.
Anyway, I am not going to delve into some sprout recipes. If this is what you are after you had better check out the Veg Box or the BBC Good Food site. We’re here to look what the printing industry have done with these small green veggies.
This has been a popular corporate christmas card design and the stack of sprouts format has been copies by different card publishers over the last couple of years. I first saw the design from CCA Occasions but I am not going to say that they were the first to design it because I dont want to start a food fight.
