I discovered the cariacture range of christmas cards from Wellforinstance (yep, strange name for a website) whilst looking for wedding stationery on another site I blog for.  I have to say, these have got to be the best designs I have come across for caricature cards.  The caricatures are quite simple but the similarities between the photos are striking and I love the computer graphic style of art which works brilliantly against the scores of backdrop templates.  The templates to choose from are varied which widens the appeal of these cards and allows customers to pin point a specific style or even business theme to suit their company.

It is important to see examples of a caricaturists work before commissioning a christmas card such as this and Well for Instance have put together an excellent rogues galleries of their work.  They describe their art as a cross between cartoon and caricature.  Because they work off of photographs they make a very important point which is applicable with any caricature card company and that is that you have to remember that the artist will never have met the subject before so any quirks and facial expressions cannot be portrayed in the picture unless they are visible in the photo or adequately described.  Take a look at some of their work below.

Prices are very reasonable for this kind of bespoke card and are priced according to the number of caricature faces that you are having on the cover of your christmas card.  This is about the fairest way of pricing this kind of style and I wish other companies would follow suit because you are paying for the time of a skilled designer more than you are paying for the cost of producing the card.  Turnaround time is also commendable and they quote 5 to 10 days to create an image proof, a further 5 days for any amendments you require and and then a further 5 days for delivery.
