This card was available last year as well and when I saw it was to be included in this collection as well it raised a smile.  I love the design and it reminds me of those Newton’s Cradle executive toys of the 1980’s that took pride of place on the desks of anyone who was anyone in business.  Anyway, the reason that it raised a smile was not because this card has Christmas sprouts in place of the traditional ball bearings but more from a comment we received from a customer last year.  I am pleased to say that from the hundreds of Christmas card orders we receive any complaints are usually few and far between.  The customer gripe in this instance was more of observational grumble than a complaint because they were dissapointed to see the sprout on the far right was out of focus.  Now, as it happens I had just taken my daughter to the Intech Science Centre in Winchester, where they had a large than life Newton’s cradle made from bowling balls, so my knowledge of Newton’s theory of Motion was fairly sound, and I would’nt have wanted to see this card design any other way (even if a high speed camera shutter could have captured the moving sprout in crisp focus).  In other words, the blurred 4th sprout is very much intentional.  It is also clearly visible on the image and the free samples sent.

The sprouts have a spot UV varnish and are debossed to make them stand proud from the card.  The personalised overprint is printed in a sharp font in silver foil.
