8FI033Y A World of Peace
The biggest challenge for any Christmas designer given the brief of designing an international corporate Christmas card design is how to make the card look like a Christmas card. I think Fine Impressions have the international Christmas card theme all wrapped up with this design. It has flags, a world map, a corporate look, and yet still manages to have a Christmas theme by way of a Christmas present. I prefer my Christmas cards to be a little more jolly myself but I can still see this as being a very popular choice for an international firm. I am not sure whether the World of Peace title gets it name from. I guess the giving and receiving of gifts may be seen as a peace offering between nations. Christmas itself certainly cannot be viewed as a tool to bring together nations because there is a surprisingly small number of countries that actually celebrate Christmas. A quick search on the net revealed that the the giving and receiving of Christmas cards is only popularly practiced in the following countries : Australia, Bethlehem, Brazil, British Isles, Canada, China, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, France, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Scandinavia, Scotland, South America, Spain, Sweden, Venezuela, Wales. I am not sure how accurate this list is mind you.
